Some people holds that reading books is a more satisfying pastime than watching movies. However, in my opinion, I think going to a theater has high satisfaction degree than reading books. To begin with, movies make plots more thrilling and exciting. This is because special sound effects and stimulating graphic cause viewers to feel like in the movie. Take the example of me. Last year, I got an assignment from my social media professor that read or watch “The Lord of the Rings” and make comments about its story. At first, I tried to catch the story by reading the book. However, I got bored because the book has too many words and explanations . So, I deflect to watching the movie. It showed me fantastic valleys and horrible monsters. Plus I could heard special background music which is mingled with the scenes and special sound effect during fighting scenes. theses all things made me engrossed in the movie. So I surely understood the story line through the movie, and easily done my assignment. On top of that, movies can offer precious time to families and friends. In other words, Watching movies is a good way to gather in one place and enjoy common activity. For instance, the family of one of my friend go theater every Friday night. Before they decided to watch movie together, they are not that intimate each other because of their busy life. they lost conversation and communication and even could not meet each other face-to-face. So, they determined to watch movie to gather every Friday night. The impact is surprising. After watching movie to gather, they can communicate each other a lot more because they had same topic to talk each other and by reducing the stress level, movie provided good atmosphere to conversation with them. In a nut shell, watching movies can give us more satisfaction due to their special sound effects and graphic which make them thrill and increasing the level of intimacy of families and friends by spending good time each other. In this regard, I strongly believe that movies are more satiable hobby than reading books. |
