▶ Your Answer : Some people think that having meals together is not important to families. However, in my opinion, families today should eat together for two reasons. First, we can improve family ties by getting together for meals. Moreover, we can teach our children table manners. Having meals together helps strengthen relationship between families. There were more opportunities to have dinner together for families in the past in comparison to these days. This is because of the hectic nature of modern life. In addition, it gives rise to form weak bonds between families. For instance, a few years ago, I felt somewhat isolated from my family. it was way hard for us to have family dinners because, in that time, I was busy with my school and my parents were busy with their work. After that time, fortunately, we all decided to get together for dinner every evening. As a result, it worked out, I meant there were more chance to communicate one another and we could build our ties up. On top of that, eating together, we can give our kids the tips of table manners. As anyone can see, it is very conventional for children to learn how to use a knife, spoon and fork while their parents teach them dinning etiquette. But, our children nowadays are learning table manners less than in the past due to today's busy life-style. A recent study conducted by Seoul National University showed that 56 percent of youth today lack table manners. The study found that the main thing of factors was family dinning. The same study revealed that who usually had meals with their families was more likely to have greater table manners. To sum up, getting together for meals helps build family ties up and provides kids with chances to learn about table manners. All things considered, I strongly believe that families today should have meals together. |
