▶ Your Answer : Undoubtedly, diligence plays a significant role in people’s daily lives in many of the places where they work or play. Some people think that doing homework every day is not helpful for students, while others not. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I were asked to choose one, I would say that it is beneficial for students to do homework regularly. There are several reasons as follows.
To begin with, when students do their homework every day, it will play a vital role in improving their academic performance. To do assignments every day, students are required to be diligent, passionate and self-disciplined. When these personal traits are fostered, it is more likely to bring a better result in school. There was research conducted by the Japanese Department of Education in 2010. In a study, two groups of young adults showed a huge difference in academic performance. One group consisted of those who spent two hours on average while doing homework every day, and the other group was made up of those who did not do their homework regularly. What the researchers found was intriguing. The former group was more likely to have a higher score on the SAT than the latter. In particular, the first group showed a longer attention span, a stronger passion in their tasks, and a better ability to delay gratification. On the other hand, the second group tended to get distracted easily, procrastinate, and act on impulse. This implies that doing homework regularly is the key to success academically. If students had not studied every day, they would have not made this incredible result in their academic performance.
On top of that, doing homework every day allows students to get a job easily. Doing assignments steadily requires students to put consistent efforts and manage their time efficiently. In this cut-throat competitive society, businesses want their employees to be prepared for diverse circumstances. Therefore, it is needed for applicants to spend their time wisely when they do many tasks at the same time. when this time-managing skill is well developed, there is a high possibility to enter a company. I will take my sister’s experience as an example. She went to high school which was famous for its strict teachers who assigned much homework. Therefore, she could not help but do her homework every day. She also had a part-time job and joined a reading club. At first, it seemed impossible for her to do all the things together. With huge effort, she learned how to manage her time. She got a high GPA and finally entered renowned company. Without doing homework regularly, she would not be superior to others in a job market.
All things considered, I strongly believe that the advantages of doing homework every day far outweigh its disadvantages for reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, the importance of diligence cannot be overestimated in the pursuit of success in life. |
