▶ Your Answer :
There might be some people who believe that
making new friends is more important than keep old friends. However, I personally
disagree with the above idea for the two subsequent reasons. First, making new
friends is more stressful. Second, it is more meaningful to create memories
with old friends.
First of all, it is more stressful for us
to make new friends. To be specific, our old friends can understand and know
about us better. Also, they will easily offer us a lot of laughter. However, because
new friends do not know us well, we should form a bond of sympathy and keep up
with new friends. It carries stressful process and might cause a conflict. Let
me bring up my personal story as an example, when I was in college, I joined a
riding club and made new friend named kevin. At first, he was so fine but as
time went by, he did not understand my thoughts and had a conflict with me. As
a result, I was stressed out and quit the club. I sometimes thought that if my
old friend named monica had been in the club, I would have been comfortable.
On top of that, a memory with old friends
is more valuable. Although creating memories with new friends is good, it does
not have the same value as memories with old friends. Also, remembrance with
old friends has a huge effect on our lives. According to a study done by the
Korea times, 80 % of respondents said that one of the most unforgettable recalls
is what they did with their old friends. They added that when they recall
memories with old friends, they are so happy but, memories with new friends are
less memorable. This clearly shows that creating memories with old friends is
more meaningful.
In conclusion, keeping old friends not only
are less stressful, but also, give us more valuable memories. For these
reasons, I firmly believe that keeping old friends are more beneficial than
making new friends. |
