▶ Your Answer :
There are
different opinions among many people regarding whether people had better buy
domestic products despite the prices of domestic products are
higher than that of foreign ones. It is a generally
accepted fact that if the quality of domestic products is the same
as foreign ones, people do not have to buy domestic
ones. However, I strongly believe that buying domestic products have
positive effects on both the domestic economy and consumers. In
this essay, I will present a couple of rationales to support my
opinion in detail.
First
of all, purchasing domestic products can
help domestic company to have competitiveness in the global
market. This is because by buying domestic products, we
can help the domestic companies of the products raise
fund to invest in R&D, thus developing the quality of their products. And
this can enable the companies to enhance their competitiveness in the world
market in the near future. A good example of this is Samsung. The Korean
government encouraged domestic people to purchase Samsung's
products in the 1960s. Through this support, Samsung could make much money
in Korea and invest its money in R&D. As a result,
they have become one of the best global
companies.
Moreover,
buying domestic products is more efficient and reasonable for consumers in
terms of after-sales service. For example, I bought a laptop made by a Chinese
company because the price was reasonable and the quality of the laptop was also
very good. However, there was no after-sales service center
in my town. So when the laptop was broken, I had to
send it to the city where the service center was located. It took
a lot of time and money to repair the laptop and it was
very inconvenient. At that time, I thought that if I had bought a
domestic laptop, I would have saved my time and money.
In
conclusion, I agree with the statement that even if the
price of domestic products is more expensive
than foreign ones, we should buy domestic ones
on account of the reasons that I mentioned above: there are
more beneficial to buy domestic products for the national economy
and consumers.
