There might be some people who believe that spending time
alone is more an effective way to relax and relieve
stress. However, I personally disagree with the idea stated above for two
subsequent reasons. First, stress can be reduced by talking with friends.
Second, group activities make people forget about their worries.
To begin with, it is possible to reduce
stress by having a conversation with friends and talk with them. To be
specific, by sharing their problems with friends and getting advice from them,
people can receive sympathy and comfort. On the other hand, if people spend
time alone, their adverse thinking is likely to be worse. According to a survey
done by sympathy researchers of the Stanford University, more than 65
percent of the respondents said that they felt that their stress was relieved
whenever they talk with their friend. This is
due to the fact that most people rely on their friends who give comfort and
useful advice. The respondents also said that their friends' words of support
were able to make them feel better. (good!)
On top of that, people can forget about
their troubles by participating in group activities. This is because group
activities require a person's full concentration and participation, which
distract them from thinking about their worries. A lot of things that cause
people to be stressed can be solved and forgotten, and joining group activities
helps people accelerate the process. For example, when I broke up with my
boyfriend, I spend spent a lot of time by
myself, thinking about our breakup. The more I thought about it, the more
depressed I became. When some of my friends heard about my problem, they
invited me to participate in photography activities. By taking a picture
outside with my friends, I could totally forget about the adverse incident.
Putting my effort into this group activity helped me forget my worries, and as
a result, I felt much better.
In conclusion, taking with friends is the
best method for dealing with stress, and group activities make people forget
about their worries. In this regard, I think that it is a good idea to relax
and relieve stress to spend time with friends.
