There might be some people who believe that smart or considerate fiend is better than cheerful friend. However, in my opinion, cheerful friend can be more beneficial for the two subsequent reasons. First, it is more likely to be closer with those friends. Second, people can get rid of stress easily. First of all, people can easily shape more intimate relation with cheerful friends. We usually meet friends for playing something together, such as going to a cafe for talking or doing some sports. With cheerful friends, we can have more fun time and enjoy the moment because their vigor can make the experience exciting. These pleasant memories have tendency to be remembered easily, which made us feel more intimate with the friends. According to a survey conducted by Seoul National University, in Korea, 87 percent of students said that they were more intimate with their energetic and cheerful friends rather than smart or considerate ones. This is because, they usually prefer to have fun time with cheerful and activate friends, not smart or considerate ones. As a result, students had more memorable moments with cheerful friends and feel closer with them. This clearly shows that cheerful friends are more likely to be closer. On top of that, cheerful friends can help people relieve stress efficiently. These days, people are under a lot of stress due to the competitiveness of today's society. For them, meeting pleasant friends can be a good method of relieving stress, since pleasant friends can make people feel happy and refresh themselves. For example, when I was in high school, I often met cheerful friends right after finishing my term exam. This enabled me to forget the exam and enjoy the moment without stress. This helped me clear my head, so that I could concentrate on studying only later. If it were not for the friends, I would have had hard time suffering from the stress from exam. In conclusion, cheerful friends are not only easy to get closer, but also helpful for relieving one's stress. In this regard, I strongly believe that cheerful friends are better compared to smart or considerate ones. |
