▶ Your Answer :
There might
be some people who believe that learning about certain fields and jobs is
better for students in high schools and universities than learning general
subjects. However, I personally disagree with the idea stated above for two
subsequent reasons. This is because such an education would help students
improve professional skills and their performance.
To begin
with, a career-focused curriculum would contribute to student's future career.
by obtaining abilities needed in seizing jobs, students can prepare for their
success in the future line of work more quickly than other students who are
just learning general subjects. For example, when I was in high schools, I had
a friend who wanted to be a professional soccer player. However, because our
school was a general school, he was just able to practice soccer at after
school activities time. Eventually, he transferred to a special school that
included a soccer training program as a central part of education. The time and
energy he was able to dedicate to the sport prepared him well for the future
profession as a soccer player.
On top of
that, providing a career specific education leads to a better performance in
school. Students are more likely to concentrate on their studies when they
learn about one that they have an interest in than others that they have no
interest in. This would also lead to a higher rate of attendance, which is
another factor to improve students' performance. According to a study conducted
by the Stanford University in the United States, the researchers found that
significant correlations between students' interest and their performance in
school. When students the more concentrate on learning about certain fields
that they have an interest in, they can the better perform in the fields. This
due to the fact that most people are interested in realms related to their
future line of work, and paying attention to the particular fields, they don't
have to divide their time into other general subjects. This clearly shows that
a career-centered education's importance.
In
conclusion, learning about specific realms and occupations will better prepare
students to succeed in the future and perform far better in such schools. In this
regard, I strongly believe that it is better for students to pay attention to
their professional subjects.
