▶ Your Answer :
The lecturer objects to the points in the
reading passage made about the advantages of solar energy. The speaker states
that the notions in the reading have flaws.
First, the speaker from the lecture says that the writer’s
claim about the environment is wrong. He insists that the reading needs a closer
look. It is true that solar power does not release any pollution. However, it is
required to set panels so that, many forests should be cut or deforested. This casts
doubt on the author’s claim that the power based on sun is better for the environment
than the power of fossil fuels because it does not expel any harmful air.
Second, the lecturer points out that the
assertion regarding unlimited source is mistaken. It is hasty to conclude just
by looking at this advantage in the reading. Even though solar energy is limitless,
the energy made by the sun should be stored in batteries. The batteries are made of
rare minerals such as cadmium and lithium. It is too difficult to obtain these
materials, which means that people have to dig the underground deeply. This
goes against the writer’s view that solar energy is one of the abundant
energy sources, which means people do not have to extract limited resources from
deep within the earth.
Finally, the professor from the lecture contends that the
opinion concerning remote destinations is flawed. The reading is missing some
key points. The solar power technique is so very supplicated and sensitive that
experts have to check it frequently. Furthermore, if it is broken, people using
this energy have to employ traditional energy until fixers come. This is in
direct opposition to the author’s claim that the solar energy can be provided
in rural areas independently unlike the other energy required for connecting
from power stations.
