It becomes sometimes an interesting issue among people that it is better to send an e-mail rather than to use telephone when they solve a problem arising from difficult relationship. Some people disagree with this opinion in that it takes a long time to solve problems. In my opinion, however, I strongly agree with this statement with two reasons. First, people can solve the problems through e-mail when they meet people who have different ideas. Second, people can avoid problems related to pronunciation.
I have the same mind with the aforementioned principle for the reason that when one sometimes meets others who have different opinion, they are able to solve the problem well by using e-mail. If they who have different opinions communicate by telephone, the problems are not solved and the situation may be getting worse. Therefore, people are usually asked to write an email that will have a lot of impact on their future life. According to the study recently released by Korea National University, CEOs who use text messaging get more along with customers than who use voicing messaging. Based on the study, they learned how to send e-mails and text-messages because they know that writing is best solution when they have a difficult problem.
Another reason that should be taken into consideration is that people can overcome problems from differences in pronunciation and dialect. Compared to the variety of pronunciation and dialect in spoken language between regions and countries, there is no big difference in written language. Although it is difficult to understand a word in speaking, people can easily recognize the word which is written down. There is a great illustration supporting this idea. I was born in Pusan, but I ought to move other city because of entering university. This city is Seoul, which is capital of Korea, and people who live in here have a soft and gentle voice. However, people of the city that I have lived use strong accent when they talk with everyone. At first, I was misunderstood as an angry woman when I spoke with people. I had a hard time to change my intonation, so I made a solution to cover my drawback. The solution was to send an email or write a letter whenever I was faced with problems. Owing to this skill, I could get along with others.
To sum up, I totally would like to say that using written language is better than using spoken language when need to discuss upsetting or controversial problems with others. The reason I think like this is because e-mail is a effective manner when people meet others who have different opinions and, at the same time, writing enables people to overcome problems in pronunciation and dialect.
