Some people speculate that children should start learning a foreign language as soon as they start school, but my viewpoint is a little different. It is wrong to say that children learn a foreign language very effectively when they start it early. It is never late to learn a foreign language after being accustomed to their primary language.
Learning a foreign language is an option depending on people. Not all people want to learn a foreign language as their school starts. In school, /it is likely that/ children want to experience other worlds than to learn foreign language. <문장을 좀 더 자연스럽게 하기 위하여, 약간 수정하였습니다. 확인해주세요 ^^> There are ample numbers of important subjects that children should be engrossed in. Those who want to learn a new language obtain a better chance at that out of school. In this case, a foreign language should not be mandatory for children as soon as children start school.
Children should learn their primary language earlier than foreign language. Children are obliged to study their native language thoroughly before jumping on to other language. When children understand and use their primary language, it helps to foster patriotism and effective communication. Consequently, they come to understand and comprehend foreign language with the background of primary language. It is a native language that should have a head start as children enter school. Whether children should start learning foreign language early is a controversial issue, but my standpoint is unequivocal; learning foreign language need not to be mandatory for school starters. This is more effectively done after a primary language is completely learned, and foreign language should be taken as an option for school starters. Only after primary language is learned thoroughly then there comes the opportunity for studying foreign language.
