▶ Your Answer : An intriguing topic of discussion at hand is whether being a leader is better than being a follower. The answer to this question can vary greatly, depending on the individual perspectives. Thus, the jury may still be out. But, as far as I am concerned, I disagree with the statement. In this essay, I will present two reasons supporting my standpoint as follows.
이 에세이 에서는 이것에 대해설명할거다 이런 문장은 빼주세요.
First of all, The primary reason for avoiding the leader's role is that not everyone has what it takes to be a leader. Too often, the glamour of being the person in charge can be blinding and people who assume the position are not capable of achieving success because they actually lack the knowledge and experience necessary. This can have result in tragic consequences as seen by the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He did not have the proper experience and so when a major disaster occurred in New Orleans, many people died because of the agency's poor response. It is true that by taking on a principal position, one can actually gain valuable experience, but the potential long-term ramifications are not a worthwhile risk if one lacks the essential know-how.
On top of that, taking a leader's position is too risky because of the possible negative consequences. Although the praise and rewards of successful leadership can be attractive, there can be criticism and negative impacts in the event of failure. For example, I had the opportuniy to lead a project team in my shool's physics class. Although I tried my best to have a good team project report, we failed to do so. At the end, I was the one responsible for the team's failure and so not only was my grade affected but also were the grades of my teammates, making me feel guilty. From this incidence, I learned that a leader is viewed as being ultimately responsible for the failure and success of the group even when the fault lies in matters outside of the leader's control. Therefore, it is important not to underestimate the practical or emotional consequences of unsuccessful leadership.
In conclusion, I strongly argue for my standpoint on account of the two reasons mentioned above. Once again, although the verdict may still be out, I personally believe that two of my rationales are sufficiently convincing enough to represent the viewpoints of a majority of people who are in favor of my claim. |
