I agree that one can learn a lot more about a person from the type of friends that he has. Many people often choose to be a friend to those who have similar thoughts, hobbies, values, and characteristics with them. There is a familiar quote says, “A man is known by the company he keeps” which means we can know a person if we see the friends of his.
To begin with, we can know about a person from the friend he has because their life has a strong influence on human relations or the surrounding environment. A person learned to imitate others. They imitate to those things that affect them much, and friends are one of them. People often seeks for a companion whom himself can unburden his heart and to those whom he can exchange his ideas and share his happiness. Through friends, people often imitates characters, conduct each other. For example, I had a good friend, and he was very nice, and kind to everyone, but, when he transferred to another school, he started to spend more time with bad friends those who like to mock and swear to others. Eventually, my friend soon influenced by them, and was doing the same thing without feeling any guiltiness. As I mentioned about him, friends can easily affect a person, and this proves that friends do similar things and think very similarly with each other.
Secondly, no lasting friendship is possible unless they have a similar interests and thoughts. We could define friends as to the mirrors that reflect another’s characters and thoughts. For instance, when I gather with my friends, we always share thoughts and do similar things together. When others see my friends, they can easily know that I talk and act similarly. They can know about me just by knowing my friend.
In conclusion, friends often imitate each other’s character, conduct, the way they talk, or the way they act. They are influenced much by whom they stay close. Friends do similar things and think similarly. Therefore, one can learn a lot more about a person from the type of friends that he has. |
