There is controversy about the best way of learning method. While some people says the it is the bet way to learn by experiencing themselves, others claim that listening to people is most helpful. However, in my point of view, I can learn things best when reading.
To begin with, learning by reading is efficient.
If I try to experience all the things that I need to learn, I have to spend a large amount of effort. However, doing all the things is almost impossible for one person. As I am lack of time, money and my talent, undoubtly I need to rely on a variety of indirect experience. In consideration of this limitation, reading books is the most efficient to way to accumulate a plenty of knowledges. If I want to learn a language such as French, I read a book about French language instead of visiting France.
On top of that, reading books provides more detailed informations.
A book contains information mainly in scripts. Compared to the way of actual experience or listening other's story, books provides a variety of informations in detailed materials. When a person talk about certain information, he or she deals with only a part of the information, also, he may add his own perspective. On the other hand, books offer objective informations more organized. This is the reason why many people mainly rely on books when they need something to learn.
Lastly, it is the fastest way to learn.
Learning by actual experience requires a great amount of time. What if I want to learn about annual change of microclimate of the region? It seems not a practical way by doing it myself since it will take more than a year. However, a book will provide informations about microclimate even for decades. Just by reading it, I can get a wide range of references in a short time. All I need is just to go to a library and search books that I need.
To sum up, learning by reading books allow me to get a plenty of detailed and organized informations by spending a little amount of time and effort compared to other methods.
In this regard, I firmly believe that it is the best way to learn something by reading. |
