The last sequel of the "Harry Potter" series has been made into film recently. This series of books is written by J. K. Rowling of England. When viewers watch this movie, they may be able to become to know England a little better. Like this, it is able for viewers to get to know a country while watching movies, partly, but not quite.
In the movie of "Harry Potter", English children go to school at the age of eleven until the age of seventeen. In real life, British children also go to elementary, middle, high school, and university. So people who have only watched the movie will only think that children of the United Kingdom only go to one kind of school. So in this case, it can be said that movies can give the wrong information about a certain country.
Next, animations can show information that is not the truth. For example, the movie "KungFu Panda2" had been released last summer. Nowadays Chinese people don't actually wear the traditional Chinese clothing, they were European clothing, just like we do. Also, the people making the film usually stretches the truth or even make up about the background for entertainment. Plus, it can't be said that the movie "KungFu Panda2" tells a lot about China. After all, the movie is made in the USA; not in China.
Many people like watching movies, some just for a hobby, some enthusiastics. Movies might give the wrong information about a certain country, stretch the truth, and make up some things for entertainment. But it is true that people enjoy watching movies, no matter what, so it is acceptable that film-makers don't tell the actual truth. Watching and enjoying them is everything, after all. |
