As people nowadays spend a huge amount of time everyday on their mobile phones, people have started to worry about the situations many people are losing their real freedom as they can not live a day without mobile phones. I think people's anxiety has a point, however, it is evident that mobile phones have given people more freedom.
To beging with, mobile phones have allowed people to communicate freely regardless of the time and the place. Mobile phones have become so necessary to live a life that everyone has them. This situation enables people to communicate with each other no matter when they need or where they are. I take my personal experience as an example. When I was in army, I had to keep in touch with the military base regularly whenever I was on the vacation. However, as an army who was in charge in confidential information, I was not allowed to carry mobile phones. As a result, I had to borrow mobile phones from people walking on the street since it was hard to find public phones. If I had had a mobile phone at that time, I would have been able to keep in touch with my base freely.
On top of that, not only mobiles phones function as a telephone, but they also offer a variety of functions through the internet and applications. It is not difficult to see people using their mobile phones as a GPS navigation or paying their bills via mobile phones. Thanks to the advent of moble phone connected to the internet, you do not need to be concerned with time and place to do works that you need to take care of. I recently paid my tuitions through my mobile phone. As I live in a rural area, it takes more than an hour to get to the nearest bank. If I had no mobile phone which is connected the internet, I had to waste my time.
In conclusion, mobile phones have gotton rid of barriers by functioning like small computers and allow people have more freedom. All things considered, no one can deny they benefit from their mobile phones. |
