There is an argument over whether movies tell a lot about a country. Some people say that there are a lot of fictional aspects in movies, so it would not help us understand about a country. I, however, am of the opinion that movies are helpful to know about a country. This is largely because, most of the movies are based on fact, so they are able to make us to understand about many countries' history, cultures and customs. Moreover, movies have positive effects on students in educational aspects about our country.
To begin with, most of the movies made today are focused on a reality of our life. Of course, there are many unrealistic movies such as science fiction movies and three-dimensions movies. However, even these movies can reflect countries background and reality. So, whatever the genre is, movies can give us a lot of information about a country. In my case, for example, i saw the movie which is called "Korean Peninsula". the movie was based on Korea's traditional history between 1800 and 2000. Through that movie, I could understand my own countries' war, indenpendence from the Japan. It was very helpful for me to understand about a country.
On top of that, movies can give great educational impacts on students. These days, a lot of students are not care about their countries' history but care about their own major for the future. Thus, they are not seriously unaware of the history. According to a study conducted by a team of researchers at Havard University, seventy-five percents of students replied that they do not care about their countries' past and current history. That's why movies can solve that problem. Students like to watch movies with friends and family. So, if there are a lot of movies which is based on historical facts, students not only learn about their country but also history.
To summarize, movies have a lot of beneficial aspects to understand a country. It is because those are mostly based on reality, and they have positive educational impacts on the students who did not care about their country and history. |
