▶ Your Answer :
Some people might
think that university and high school should teach students about specific
careers and fields instead of general subjects. In my opinion, however,
teaching only specific careers instead of general subjects is not a good idea because most students want to learn general
subjects in general school and learning general subjects is beneficial
to develop students’ potential.
To begin with, most
students who go to a general
high school or university want to learn general subjects rather than just learn
about specific careers. Generally, those who want to learn about specific
fields in an early age go to the special institutions or schools specializing specialized
in specific fields. For example, those who are interested in cooking and want
to learn about it will go to the special academy or school teaching about that
field. Also, students who want to start their career in engineering go to the
vocational institutions or schools. However, most other students prefer
to learn more about general subjects to experience various things and find
their aptitudes. Therefore, just teaching specific careers is not desirable for
most general students.
In addition,
learning general subjects are helpful to develop students’ potentials. It is generally said that most general subjects are composed of stuffs
helping students to experience and develop various aspects of their abilities. For example, by learning music and
arts, students can could understand how different people express things
differently. Also, they can could have chance to look at things from a different point of view. In language classes, they learn how
to communicate with others more effectively. Furthermore,
by learning foreign languages, they can could
experience different cultures and customs which
are also beneficial when they have their jobs in the future. In this way, we
can say that learning general subjects is important for students to develop
their potential.
In conclusion, for the above reasons, I
definitely think that university or high schools do not need to teach just
specific careers or fields but instead teach students of general subjects. |
