▶ Your Answer :
Both the reading passage and the lecture mainly discuss
the current global warming trend. The lecture goes against the reading passage by stating that the current global warming trend does not have such severe
problems which the reading passage argues.
The first opinion of the professor is that the current
global warming trend is not unnatural. While the text insists that the
environment can be damaged by the anomalous increase in Earth’s temperature,
the professor argues that since rising and falling of temperature is natural,
it does not affect the Earth negatively.
On top of that, the lecture disagrees with the idea of
the article that which states that solar
variation has caused temperature to rise. The lecturer persist that even though
the Earth became closer to the sun, the increase in solar radiation has little
effect on the Earth. She also states that this effect should be investigated
more.
Finally, the professor claims that CO2 created by humans
does not contribute to global warming heavily. She indicates that the current
amount of CO2 is 5 times less than when the dinosaur lived. In addition, she
says that nature emits CO2, 26 times more than humans do. This refutes the
article stating that CO2 produced by humans raises the Earth’s temperature.
