The reading passage lists that today metal resources are getting scarcer, and people have to provide a solution such as excavating metal from under the sea. However, the speaker argues that it is a true fact that we are lacked of metal resources, but to excavate the ground of the sea is not rational for some reasons.
To begin with, according to the article, there are gigantic amount of metal resources in beneath sea, also the type of the resources has considerable diversity. However, the speaker argues that if people want to extract the beneath sea, they have to ready for diverse skills. Moreover, the resources are not certified, and they maybe dirty to use. In addition, people who may work for extracting have to deal with conveying problems.
On top of that, this is also argued that excavating of the metal will not relate to contaminating the world. On the contrary, the lecturer claims that people have to concern an ecosystem of the sea. In detail, they may position to deep sea, and diverse stuffs will follow them. In this manner, the sea including their land is contaminated by those human’s effects.
Lastly, the reading passage points out that there are no problems such as a constitution of national organizations. Furthermore, the excavating the sea is protected by the law of the United Nations. On the other hand, the speaker completely says that the United Nations mentioned about above the ground, not the materials under the ground. In this manner, if people excavate the beneath sea to solve the raw resource’s problem, it must be illegal behaviors. In addition, the speaker mentioned that this excavating is related to partial nation’s problem, not whole world’s problem.
