▶ Your Answer :
Dual core or single core? It was complex problem when I was going to buy new computer. Having considered for a long time, I bought single core computer. Because my major was architecture, I had to handle one complex program than the programs that require multi-tasking ability. In our society, there is similar problem like above. I think specialized one skill is better than awkward 10 skills.
First of all, we live in a complex society. There are many professional jobs in society. Thus, it is so hard to learn many skills in short time. This society needs professional experts in one field rather than amateurs who have many poor skills in several areas. For example, I could succeed if I were computer science engineer than electric device repairman. The repair engineer can repair all of devices include computer, but he can’t handle complex problem in computer.
In addition, it is so time consuming for people to learn many skills. Having lots of skill is good. However, the problem is that even one skill needs so much time to acquire; almost 10 years. On top of that, the average retirement age is 65. If someone tries to master 5 skills during 50 years, he or she only has 15 years to earn money. This is not practical way to succeed.
To sum up, since we live in a highly developed technological society, concentrating to one skill is more effective than many skills. Focusing on many different skills makes people spend a lot of time and money. Moreover, normal people’s average capacity is not enough to learn one more skills. If someone thinks that he or she has many skills in young age, those skills might be poor and also it lack of field experiences. In order to succeed, we should take only one way, and discipline ourselves perfectly. |
