It is often said that students attend
university or college to learn the skills that will eventually allow them to
succeed in their desired career path. Although a fair number of people will
concur with this statement, there simply is more to attendance than just
striving for a future job appointment. In my opinion, I believe that colleges
and universities are places where students are allowed to both build thorough
social relationships and to truly descry their disposition and stance towards
their interests.
To begin with, universities enable a
tight-knit social bonding between students. In other words, universities are
open to versatile groups of individuals who all share the urge to learn new
notions and ideas. For example, students who are studying for the same subject
will have a common interest in that particular topic; thus, conversation between
such members will indubitably flower into a possible friendship: for a person,
those of who can understand his or her beliefs are certainly welcome. It is
even said that friends made in university are likely to last as most students
are mature enough to rationalize the difference between an influential (may be beneficial in the future, such as for getting advice) and a trifling
companion.
Furthermore, students are able to find
their final goals in life by attending university. There are always a few
students who have oscillating and often unstable dreams. That is to say, they
are unable to decide whether their subject of study at hand is really what they
want to do in the future. A career is something they have to be willing to do
for the rest of their lives; rash decisions could result in a long-term regret
and frankly, a university is just the place to solve this dilemma. By observing
other students and a variety of seemingly new and intriguing departments, a person
gets glimpses of every possibility he or she has never thought of in the past.
This will allow the individual to take the time to weigh the advantages and
disadvantages of every path and pick out the best suited to him or her.
To sum up, I strongly adhere to the belief
that people study at university or college to earn irreplaceable friends as
well as earn a full understanding of what career path to settle down on.
Because without such facilities, students are bound to at least struggle and at
most be disheartened by the harsh nature of the “real world”. |
