It is controversial whether the government should invest more money in the Internet to allow more people to access it than public transportation. Although many people think that since there are many unsolved problems related to the system of public transportation, government should focus on solving problems of the public transportation, I strongly believe that the government should spend their money on the Internet in that people are able to have the right to have access on data provided by the Internet and the development of the Internet can lead to the advancement of other related industries. In this essay, I will explain my idea by presenting two reasons as follows.
First of all, today's people are required to have much information because the more information they get, the more likely they are to have opportunities. Since the Internet is based on the system sharing many pieces of information, it can provide people with useful information. However, there are still many poor people who cannot have access on the Internet, which can deprive them of the right to get information from the Internet.
Secondly, if governments invest more money in stimulating the Internet, they can benefit from other related industries which are developed by the improvement of the Internet. In the case of Korea, they are well known for the highest Internet access. For this accessibility, it can contribute to development of the online game industry. According to a research in 2009, revenues of the online game market in a year has increased drastically since 2000 when people have started to use the Internet. In addition, as the export of the game products has increased, which could make it possible for the government to reduce the burden of national debt.
In conclusion, as I have just mentioned above, the government should concentrate on helping more people access the Internet rather than spending much money on the public transportation. |
