It is controversial whether when a person behaves wrongly, his friends should give advice to him. Although most people think that since he can easily get discouraged from others' blame, people would rather let him be himself than remind him of his mistake by telling it, I strongly believe that he can get an opportunity to correct his wrong behavior by giving advice from his friends, which can play a beneficial role in keeping their friendship. I will explain my idea by presenting two reasons as follows.
First, I think that the role of friends is to encourage his friends to behave rightly by giving appropriate advice. When a person makes a mistake, if there is no one to give advice or persuade him not to do it again, he would make the same mistake again. For example, I have a foreign friend who is from Canada, and he can not speak my country's language well. Once, when I met him, he was talking with an women by cursing without understanding the bad language. I and she was embarrassed by his mistake, I had to apologize to her and correct his wrong words. By realizing his wrong behavior, he does not make the same mistake.
Secondly, by giving advice, people can have a better relationship. Even if a person who made a mistake and got advice from his friends get angry at first. However, if he realize the intention of his friends' advice, he will be bound to appreciate his friends. Therefore, this contributes to better relationship with his friends who told his mistake and gave advice, they can help each other when they are faced with difficult situations by giving advice and encouraging each other.
In conclusion, as I have just mentioned above, giving appropriate advice to friends who make a mistake leads to better relationship with them, and prevent them from making the same mistake. |
