In these days, news media is one of the major ways to know current events. People’s ways to think about events are highly dependent on how news media explains the events. However, it is totally not a reliable source because news-maker may contain their own thoughts when they make news. Plus, they deliberately distort information to set and lead people’s thinking.
First of all, news-makers sometimes put their own thoughts into the news. This is because some news-publishers may regard some events differently from others’ thoughts. For example, three years ago in my country, there was a huge problem about importing American beefs. It was actually true that the beefs my country imported were sort of old one so that it may cause and bring some diseases. However, the news media in my country explained this event very differently from the truth. The media said that people would instantly get horrible disease if eat the beefs. Likewise, because some news-makers use own thoughts and bias, news-media is not a reliable source.
Moreover, news media deliberately use false information to unite people so that news media can take advantages. By giving false and made information, some news can control people’s mind. To illustrate this point, president vote period perfectly exemplifies this. During the vote days, there are numerous news about candidates. For example, In South Korea, there was Mr. Lee who was a very potential candidate. He was actually born in Japan, but the reason why he was born in Japan is just because South Korea was taken over by Japan at that time. However, some news described him as Japanese so he should not be a president of the country. Likewise, some news media intentionally make some false, attractive, and flawed articles so that they can take advantages that attract numerous people.
To sum up, because the news-makers sometimes make articles based on their own thoughts and bias, it is totally an unreliable source. Not only this but news media also uses fake or false information in order to take advantages or make bigger profits. On the whole, it will be smart if news-watchers read or listen news media with the mind that news media may contain false or biased information. |
