Many people think it is tolerable for children to make important decision alone. However, I strongly don't agree with that opinion. There are two reasons for it. First, parents know very well about their children. Second, children are not mature enough.
To begin with, parents know better about their children's characteristic, hobby and other personal things than whoever it is. They watch children since the birth, and control them to be better children. There was a research from Korean National Statistics. It showed that children almost rely on their parents. From age 8 to 12, 94%, and from age 13 to 18, 76% said they relied on their parents. The reason was that parents are the people who understand them best. Consequently, I think parents know children very well.
Moreover, children are not mature enough to make important decision. They don't have much experience, so they can cause big trouble. If they are too wise, of course they can choose good alternative, but they are not very much children who can manage big affair. For instance, I was trying to make important decision when I was 8(it was about financial problem), so I made a big trouble, and heard sermon from my mom. After all, to maek important decision, children should be mature enough.
In conclusion, I think that children should not be allowed to make important deicisions alone. There are two reasons. Parents know them well. Children are not much mature. For these reasons, I strongly believe that children should be banned to decide important matters. |
