Many people have experience to feel disapointed at the purchased product, because it is so different from one on the advertisement. We misunderstand that the product is great and has special functions on the image which the model and computer technology create. This glamorous image on the advertisement always draws attention from the public.
First of all, the celebrity usually promotes products on advertisiment and his or her postive image makes products fancy. The celebrity has special image which the public think such as charisma or goddess. For instace, on the perfume advertisement, movie acteress or fashion model such as Madonna looks more goregous compared to the reality. This is because they have different make-up and costumes to express brand image. Their glamorous images play a key role in creating perfume's brand value. It makes potentional customers buy and fall in fancy image which the model expresses on the advertisement creates.
Secondly, the advance of technology has improved the qulity of the advertisement. In the past, due to the lack of technology, there was limitation to express range of color and clear shape. There was also difficulty to make the model on the advertisement have muscle and slim body . However, thanks to the development of technology, the public can see only advantages of the products and models on the television and press advertisement. Computer and camera technology are siginificant to make product better on the advertisement. For example, Photoshop program can cover up the pimple and scratch as well as changecolor.
In conclusion, I believe that technological development and hiring the celebrity for promotion make the product better and customers feel confused. The public can have fantasy which is that they can become a model by using the product on the advertisement. |
