Since society is keep changing, the infinit number of progression is being made. People are no more surprised to know that new invention or new technology has been taken place. However, progress is not always beneficial for the following two reasons: people feel exhausted keeping up with new trend. Also, it is people who will be suffered from the side effects which followed by dramatic progression.
To begin with, people feel exhausted and frustrated to follow the new trend all the time. People cannot stop learning and studying to keep up with the brand new trend. Because of the endless progress, majority of them ends up giving up to learn or to adapt. To make it worse, this phenomena will push them into the edge- falling apart from the others and society. For example, even to the youngs, it is not easy to learn how to handle new machine such as i-phone. As the time goes by, countless machines were invented and new functions were added. Many of the elders gave up learning all these progressions because they were frustrated by endless learning.
In addition, too much progress can cause side effects. Goal-oriented progress can be very risky because people who make the progress can neglect the possibility of producing the harmful effects which can harm or damage environment as well as people. To illustrate, Korea made big economical progress over the last decades. However, during the progress, too much important factors had been neglected and now, people faced environmental problems. Much of the time and effort were made such as purifying the river or planting the trees etc. At that time, people realized that the side effects were even bigger problems than the actual development.
To conclude, even though progress had brought much comfort to humanity, it was not always beneficial. This is because, it made people who cannot keep up with the trend to feel exhausted and separated from the society. Also, it can cause side effects which were not expected. |
