First of all, working part time job is the best way for student to think about their future and career. As part time jobs, student can try to do many different experience from becoming a cashier to a tutor. These experiences allow student to decide their majors before entering to University. It is siginificant, because I have seen many people who have gotten into the college depending on SAT score. For instance, one of my friends worked as a chef at Italian restaurant and it led him to become a chef. By learning how to cook Italian food, He started to be excited about cooking and developing new dishes. Based on his work experience, now he studies Italian and French food at the college. Therefore, doing part time job enables teenagers to realize what they want to do in the future.
Second of all, through doing part time jobs, teenagers can get a sense of independece. Many secondary school students usually rely on their parents financially and thus whenever they need money, they just ask parents. However, if they start to work as part time job, their mind-sets will be totally different. Students can learn how difficult earning money is through conflicts and cooperation at the company thanks to the part time jobs. According to the articles, teenagers answer that after working part time jobs, they can learn how to manage their budget and become independent from their parents. In addition, students who do a part time job have not only a sense of independence but also a sense of responsibility.
In conclusion, many parents believe that working part time job takes student's time for study. On the contrary, actually it has more benefits for students than disadvantages from deciding their careers to improving a sense of independence. |
