In my parents' generation, most workers had thought that having a loyalty toward their company is a necessary idea and they had a longtime at the same company. That was a part of Korean culture. Not only that, but also some employees are thought that moving company was same as betlay with others. However, this custom became outdated concept in contemporary. And I also firmly believe that it is inefficient for employees to work at the same company for their whole lives for the following reasons.
First of all, if employees worked for a same company, they could easily be idle in their work because of a lack of motivation. For instance, in my prior company, there was a manager who had worked for that company over 15 years. He had been adjusted in that company long times before. Therefore he was able to wark easily, and he already had his own position at the company. He looked like he did not need any effort to improve himself. He jsut did repeat same work for several years.
Second, when someone moved to other company, one's salery should be extremely increased. Because companies want to hire employees who have special abilities or experience in ther prior company, the companies usually commision much higher salery comparing with before they gained. There was both migrated workers and long-term workers in my prior company. And most cases, migrated workers' yearly saleries are higher than long-term workers'. Therefore many long-term workers had complainment their salery.
In addition, before I enter a company, it is difficult to figure out whether the company is good for me. In this point, moving company should bring me diverse chance, such as increasing my income, working at the ideal place and my self-development. For these reason, I think that chang my company is kinds of symbol to show my ability and necessary toward nowadays. |
