It is controversial whether the advent of TV has had a greater influence on society than the invent of telephone. Although most people think that the use of telephones allows people to communicate and connect easily, I strongly believe that since the television has played a key role in increasing the quality of our lives and contributed to economic growth, the role of TV is more important than that of telephone. I will explain my idea by presenting two reasons as follows.
First, TV has provided visual images that telephone can't show to people. When people use telephones, they only rely on voice. Therefore, people can have more access to TV compared to telephone. Furthermore, TV which contains many aspects of life and a great amount of useful knowledge can provide people with lots of information all at once. These two attribute, the great access and giving people much information, have contributed to increasing people's lives. For example, when a natural disaster is predicted, people can realize that they have to evacuate their homes by just turning on TV and watching the news informing the event.
Secondly, the advent of TV has given people an opportunity to get jobs related to the business of TV and TV programs. TV is the most convenient media for people to get much information and enjoy themselves. Therefore, people's preference for TV has made the economy active. For instance, there are many programs being broadcast and the programs require high quality technology, equipments and workers. In addition, TV broadcasting companies has competed to provide TV programs that people like to watch to convey them, which has given birth to the opportunity for people to work.
In conclusion, I have just mentioned above, TV has a greater impact on people's life than telephone in that it has many good characteristics and stimulate the economy to be boosted.
