It is worthwhile to discuss whether or not it is a good idea for teenage student to have jobs. Some people would disagree with the statement because working harms students to concentrate on their study. In my opinion, however, teenagers had better work for the following two reasons. First, teenagers will learn responsibility by working. Second, they can realize the value of money.
To begin with, teenagers will learn responsibility by working. This is mainly because there are many obligations and promises to keep when they have jobs. They have a sense of responsibility if they break the rules. Let me give an example. Although you got poor grade in English test, you just study harder than you did for the next test. However, if you make mistakes or break rules, you will be responsible for the error unlike studying. As this case illustrates, students can know responsibility that is unlikely to learn in school.
In addition, teenagers can realize the value of money. Most students spend mony given by their parents. There are few chances to know the worth of money. Earning money directly makes them to appreciate the money they use. For example, I had not realized its value until I had a first part time job. The job opportunity made it possible for me to not only comprehend the worth of money, but also save money. As this case illustrates, teenagers can be aware of the worth of money by working
In conclusion, I believe the perspective that teenagers should have jobs while they are students. It is because teenagers need to develop responsibility through work experiences, and because they could learn the importance of money. All these things will benefit teenage students throughout their lives. |
