There are two types of friends, some are similar to us and the others are different from us. Through my experience, those who are similar to us make us feel easy, (make us) share sharing same ideas and admit admitting each other. However, we can learn more about more learn on life through those who are different from us(,) because we can broaden our perspectives to the world, and learn something new (acknowledge something)(,) such as new genre of music or movies.
To start with, the first reason(,) that I prefer to meet friends who are different from us(,) is that we can expand our view or outlook. To be specific, when we discuss on political or social issues, we can learn more and more because they have perspectives that I cannot consider/ think of. For example, when I took a class in the university(,) (titled) introduction to social-science, I discussed on abolishing death penalty. I had a stance on agreeing to abolish it, but my friend disagreed did not agree it. Through discussion, I could can understand his perspective and flaws of my logics(,) so it was is important opportunity to expand my knowledge.
Not only that, through/ by hanging out with friends who have different life styles or hobbies, I can encounter and learn new things. Learning new things which are is quite interesting. For instance, I had have a friend whose hobby was horse-riding. At that time, it was not familiar with me, but I went to that place several times to ride and I tried it. I felt that it was quite exciting(,) and then I have frequently visited to ride. Even If I did not hang out with my friend, who was riding horse as he/she hobby, I might not have an opportunity to learn it.

In summary, we need friends who have different and diverse thoughts and ideas, or life style, because friends could it should improve our your knowledge or ability, and they can give you an opportunity be one opportunity to learn new thing.
