Recently, general awareness about whether or not it is wise that older workers get paid higher than younger workers has aroused as heated arguments. People, nevertheless, have conflicting ideas; while some people say that older workers’ proficient knowledge and experience should be rewarded with a high salary, others deem otherwise. Considering all aspects of the disputable opinion, I agree with the latter stand.stance.
The first reason for my opinion is that individual ability has nothing to do with one’s age.
Many companies have applied to the salary system to give giving more benefits to older workers. They highly assess the older worker’s proficient experience, however, it is true that one’s ability does not have any relation with their age. For example, my uncle was as a talented person and always top in his major during the time of his university, however, without any credit for his ability, he hired at a low salary because of his young age. Although this discrimination on his age, he made success presentation and greatly affected up to a quarter of company’s total profits. Soon after two years, he was promoted as a manager in his company. Although he was much younger than other workers in his department, the company decided to give him a promotion for his great ability to work. of working. Of course, as he was promoted to higher position, he was paid more than before.
Another equally important reason is that today’s younger workers who have fresh ideas and innovative thinking bring much profits to the company. It is an undeniable matter that most workers at a younger age know the trend of nowadays better than older workers. They would cater to the needs of potential customers and realize new products that the people demand. For instance, there are some coupon selling sites which use the social network system. Ticket monster, one of those sites, gathered a great amount of money by the department which many younger workers are involved in. The younger workers have created many products which attracted customers’ attention with their creative advertisement in effective ways. As a result of this, these younger workers were well paid well for their knowledge.
