This is because employees don't have to worry about firing, consequently they put less effort to do their work. It can lead company to have low productivity and profit. Given that company is existing for making a profit, lifelong hiring is dangerous systems.
For example, South Korea has been problems in education of public schools. The problem is that Korean students are sleeping in school and after finishing school, they study in private institutionas paying additional costs. This is cause by the quility of teachers in the public school. They have being making a effort to develop their knowlege and teacing skills sinece they are less likely to get fired. This makes classes boring and low-quilited.
