144. Would you prefer to live in a traditional house or in a modern apartment building? Use specific reasons and detail to support your answer.
It is true that traditional house possesses a breath-taking beauty of cultures. People get astonished when they face traditional buildings. This is why when people travel abroad, they always set traditional places as their must see places. I am also a big fan of traditional buildings around the world due to my interest in the fields of architecture. However, when it comes to the topic to choosing my habitat between traditional house and modern building, I would pick the latter without any hesitation.
One obvious advantage of living in modern building is that it is simply comfortable. In other words, I don’t have to take care of maintenance so much. For example, I don’t have to care so much about security, heating, cooling, electricity and numerous things since they are all covered in maintenance fees.
Another benefit of living in modern housing is that numerous facilities are nearby. This largely due to the fact that such modern building can accommodates thousands of people, which traditional ones could not. It is the nature of things that markets prosper where there are many people. Therefore living in modern building consequently makes our living more comfortable thanks to nearby facilities.
The final reason why I can not choose traditional housing as my habitat is because it is just too expensive to offer. Why bother spend five times as more money as the money need to buy modern housing. To illustrate this point, according to the recent article that deals with architectural matter, the materials need to build the traditional Korean housing, so called as ‘Han-ok’, is expensive because such materials do not have many suppliers. It further mentioned that it costs about four to five times of money compared to modern style housing.
It is true that traditional buildings are really enticing. However as illustrated above, modern buildings are more comfortable, not to mention it is cheaper. I anticipate that more and more people would prefer modern buildings in the future.
