People disagree over the statement that the news media is a reliable source of unbiased information. I strongly believe that many news media become losing parity, because most news media is used to advertise companies, and is belonged in politics.
First of all, many news media is relatively biased, because many companies use news media for advertisement. According the improving life levels, most people naturally have many mechanisms such as TV, radio or computers. By doing so, they have more opportunity to be exposed to the society, and many companies use there news media to attract more consumers. For example, one of Korean famous company, Samsung, gave bribes to the biggest newspaper companies to advertise theirs. When this fact is exposed, many Korean were surprised and many people became knowing their close relationship between big companies and news media. Thus, in my view, many news media have been controlled by some big companies, and by doing so, news media is losing their parity for ingratiating private companies’ profits.
Secondly, many news media is relatively biased, because many news medias are belonged in politics currently. As I mentioned before, the wider news media offers, the stronger the effectiveness of them recently. Not only companies, but also many countries’ politics use them for increasing their support. According to the survey, 68 % of advertisements in South Korea are related to politic parties. In this atmosphere, they necessarily have feature of each party, and by doing so, news media might provide biased information to us. Thus, it is difficult to say that they provide us uninterested information considering these use of them.
