▶ Your Answer :
Labor Union
According to the listening passage, the lecturer insists that there is not any method to protect the labors instead of labor union’s activity during the industrial revolution in England and United States. This disproves the reading passage's assertion that workers' life is more and more hard than their previous life.
To begin with, the labor Union enforces the factories to give some advantages for the workers such as educating how to deal with harmful and danger materials. They help the people to escape the serious toxic materials. This contradicts the part in the reading passage where it says that the environment of the workplace is appalling. Especially heavy metals which cause serious diseases existed in the factories.
Second of all, the lecturer brings up the notion that the maximum working hours will be scheduled and owners guarantee the break time for the workers. Moreover, they also guarantee the minimum payment for the workers. This is opposed to the point in the reading passage where it says that the workdays were lengthened from 11 hours to 16 hours, even though the workers were not able to get enough money from the owners.
Thirdly, there is strongly limited line which restrict the age of workers. Thus, young people cannot perform the tasks, when they are underage of standard. This refutes the idea in the reading passage where it says that the use of child laborers provoked extremely the increasing of problems, since they were exploited by the owners. |
