No pains, No gains. This proverb reminds me that there are no connection between fortune and success. Although some people might disagree, I strongly agree to the idea that luck has nothing to do with success. There are few primary reasons why I support the claim. One is that only diligent people can succeed. The other is that in order to succeed, we have to have skills or knowledge.
First of all, it is crucial to know that you will have no chances if you do not make effort to do. To give you an idea, here is a good example from Korean swimmer called Tae-hwan Park. He is a Korean swimmer who got bunch of golden medals on international swimming match. According to a news article, he has twice breathing capacity of normal people. It can be possible because he swims more than 10 hours every day. As I was also a swimmer in high school, I know how it is difficult. Even though I swam approximately 2 hours every day, it was really hard for me and I often tried to give up. So I know swimming more than 10 hours is strict not only physically but also mentally. To summarize, it is needless to say that only his efforts made him called the Korean swimming prince.
Second, it is apparent that people should have high-leveled skills and a deal of knowledge to succeed in an area. It is also one of the reasons why people want to earn a degree. Here is a wonderful example to illustrate. One of my friends, Shane wyatt, had a dream to be a cooker. Since he has failed once to have his own restaurant, he decided to study in Japan to learn Japanese food. He spent 2 years in the Tsuji Cooking College which is the second best cooking college in Japan. He said he got techniques and wisdom during studying there. In 2007, he opened a sushi restaurant in Toronto, Canada. Now the shop makes profits of $200,000 a year. He said the experience and knowledge from the college played great role in succeed.
In short, I firmly believe that luck has nothing to do with success. It is logical not only because the more work hard, the more chance we can get in order to succeed, but also because some skills and knowledge of a specific area are needed to reach the goal. If we believe our potential ability in ourselves and do our effort, we would succeed.
