Intergrated part: Internet as a learning tool |
The lecturer demonstrates that Internet as a learning tool is not as good as we anticipate . On the other hand, the reading passage claims that Internet has many advantages over traditional classes.
First, Internet gives students too much freedom. Once students have too much freedom, that means they are not likely to be disciplined to concentrate on lectures. In addition, some students are frequently dropped the classes. As such, Internet impedes appropriate process of learning that is activated in traditional classroom. This contradicts the reading passage's argument that Internet enable us to study without restraint of time and distance and to spend time more wisely because of the sophisticated Internet function of stopping and resuming of lectures.
Second, Internet can not guarantee the progress of learing. Because, on Internet, it is almost impossible to monitor the test, the test result is not reliable. Furthermore, there is no way to control the cheating among students. Even worse, Internet can not be a useful method to discuss and communicate among students and teachers because,in reality, it takes too much time for teachers to respond every question students posted and virtually impossilbe for teachers to repond every questions posted. In addition, Internet can not provide enough interaction among students. All these assertions rebut the reading passage's claim that Internet is the effective tools for communicating each other and brisk discussions can be offered through Internet borads and emails. |
