I have ever heard that many teenagers work in other part-time during studying at their school in other countries. On the other hand, in my country countries, most teenagers do not have jobs while they are students since it is not allowed for teenagers to work due to by law. My parents agree that it is not good for teenager students to work, and they used to say this to me over a hundred times when I was a teenager. Although this soundeed like old people’s nagging back then(예전엔 그랬지만~), I think what my parents said is right because of several disadvantages for teenager students.
To begin with, teenagers’ study would be interrupted by working. It usually takes at least over 5 hours for working but teenagers do not have enough time to work. They spend 6 or 7 hours at school, and they also have several homeworks from their class everyday. Therefore, the work teenager students do after school would affect teenagers’ study time. Besides, teenagers might lose their concentration while they study at school. They do not have appropriate skills to have a professional job so their work is almost blue collar jobs which require physical work condition. Therefore, the work would will make them exhausted, and it this will possibly distracts teenager students attention at their class comes due to lack of rest time or obsession about work.
Lower Bad working condition of teenager students’ work is another disadvantage for them. Many employers incline to exploit young workers because the regulation about employing them is not strict. Thus, the teenager would will have low income as well as overworking if they meet bad employers.
Although there are some advantages for teenager students to work such as working experience, I would do not want to suggest teenager students to work since their study is their priority. Moreover, as long as they do not have a good skill to have a good job, and they would suffer circumstances from terrible condition of their work. So, if I had a teenager son who wanted to work while he was a student, I would recommend my son to study rather than working studying. |
