These days a growing number of people are more like to think that televisions are detrimental to children. Against this opinion, however, I strongly believe that they are beneficial to children. The rationale behind this is that televisions are good sources of educational information. Moreover, children can also get information about other countries.
To start with, televisions are one of the best educational informants. This is largely because, since televisions can provide hundreds of thousands of vivid visual aids such as pictures, photos and videos, they can not only help children with understanding educational information such as principles or biological processes but also help children with keeping what they learned from television in their mind. For example, few years ago, by watching television, I learned some biological processes about fetuses, such as the fertilizing process, cleavage and determining the sex of a fetus. Because it offered me the vivid videos of the entire process, I could totally understand the whole process and until now, I can remember it.
Additionally, televisions enable children to know much about foreign countries. The fundamental reason is that some TV programs deal with the food, traditions and overall cultures of foreign countries ranging from American to Europe. Furthermore, televisions also provide foreign films which show some parts of history of the country. For instance, few years ago, I had chances to go Germany for 3 months. What I did before going to Germany was watching TV programs about the races, foods, traditions, and cultures of Germany. Not only that but also I also watched several movies that are provided by televisions such as ‘Operation Valkyrie’ and “Schindler’s List” in order to know the history of the country. Through watching TV programs and Films, I could know much about the country.
In conclusion, without any doubt, I firmly support the idea that televisions are helpful for children. The reason is that televisions are good teaching method and children can get knowledge of other countries. All in all, it will be wise for children not to be addicted to the television. |
