▶ Your Answer : Some people think traveling in a group led
by a tour guide is not the best way of trip, while others do not. Both sides may
have their own reasons to support their views. In my opinion, the best way of
traveling is in a group led by a tour guide.
Traveling in a group led by a tour guide
can make the trip much safer. To be specific, most tour guides are
professionals of the region and have lots of knowledge about it, so they let
their tour members know the places which are dangerous. People tend to avoid
those places for their safety when they are heard of the information about the
hazardous places. A few years ago, my older sister traveled to Indonesia alone,
she visited street notorious for the pickpocket without realizing it. Her
wallet and passport was stolen there and as she was alone, strangers kept
trying talking to her. Last year, however, she went to Indonesia again with
other people including a tour guide and the tour guide was an indigenous man
who knew lots of things about Indonesia. He noticed the tour members that they
should concentrate on their bags and wallets in certain markets and kept all
passports of members in his carrier preventing them from being stolen. Therefore,
she could avoid dangerous streets easily and strangers did not come nearby her
as she always move as a group.
Traveling in a group led by a tour guide
also helps one to gain the knowledge and information about the region. A tour
guide tries to convey information about the area continuously in the bus and
this explanation can improve one’s knowledge. When I went to Bangkok alone, I
could not enjoy the trip fully because nobody explained me the origin or
purpose of temples, and the development of the city. However, my friend who
visited Bangkok as a member of a tour group could learn a lot of basic
information such as the meaning of the colors in temples, the government’s
environmental plan of the city and the types of transportation because the tour
members interacted with each other by exchanging the knowledge they knew about
Bangkok and the tour guide corrected it and explained it in depth. If I also
traveled in a group with a tour guide, I could fully understand the city.
In short, I strongly believe that the
advantages of traveling in a group with a tour guide far outweigh those of
other ways of traveling for the reasons I have mentioned above. |
