0142. A gift (such as clothes or furniture) can contribute to a child’s development. What gift would you give to help a child develop? Why? Use reasons and specific examples to support your choice. |
Some people choose to give a diary for a child’s development because through writing everyday life, they can improve their writing skills. Other people determine to bring papers with colorful crayons because by drawing, children can develop their imagination and creativity. However, in my point of view, a gift that can donate to a child’s improvement is a soccer ball. The rationale behind this is that a kid can raise their social interaction skill. Moreover, he or she can stay healthy. To begin with, I would definitely bring a soccer balls as special gifts for children’s development. It is largely because soccer ball plays an integral role in interacting with other people. Through playing soccer with other kids, children can make friends and learn how to cooperate with them. By having common goal and approaching to that goal, children can have great time with others while learning how to play soccer, too. So, I think this is the opportunity that can kill two birds with one rock. For example, my little cousin was a boy who was always shy and didn’t have any friends except one or two closest friends. My parents knew that, and they decided to give soccer ball for him in order to make him being an outgoing kid and having a lot of friends. As a result, he became interested in playing soccer, and after he became great at playing soccer, gradually, other kids came to him and hung out with him. In this respect, giving soccer ball encourages children’s social interaction with others. In addition, playing soccer will help children maintaining their healthiness, so I think soccer ball is an appropriate present for a child. The rationale behind this is that nowadays, a substantial number of children stay at home in order to watch television all days and all nights. While watching television programs is a great idea to spend time, not moving at all and staying at home brings a considerable number of obesity-related illnesses ranging from heart attacks to strokes. So, if children play soccer outside, they will overwhelm having illnesses like diabetes. For example, my sister was a child who had serious problem related to obesity. She didn’t move at all even though she knew that it was wrong. To help her, I bought a soccer ball for her birthday, and since then, we played soccer together everyday an hour. Eventually, she overcame her disease and became a healthy girl. In conclusion, without the slightest hesitation, I would prefer to give a soccer ball as a special gift for a child. This will bring two advantageous things which are having better social interaction with others and staying as a healthy person. All in all, soccer ball is a perfect gift in my opinion. |
