Parents are the best teachers. |
저도 잘 쓰는 글은 아니지만 도움이 될까 해서 제가 쓰는 스타일로 한번 적어 봤습니다. 저도 첨삭좀 해주세요.
Like all other animals in the world, parents are the most important teachers for children because parents are the most intimate members and know almost all things that happened to their children. However, in the highly modernized society, it is unavoidable that the role of parents is limited and they are not skilled at every field. So there are several reasons why it is difficult for parents to play theachers' role in our modern society.
First, our society is developing so rapidly that many people can't keep up with the current information and there are so many newly emerging field day by day. That is, we are innundated with information. The pace our society is developing is unimaginable so is the education. Education itself became a specific field that needs more specialized knowledge. So it is impossible that parents know the everything about those specific knowledge on education. Therefore, children can not be taught properly only with the help of their parents. For example, a few years ago, homeschooling was quite a boom in Korea including a few other nations. Although parents have tried to be teachers of their child, if we look into closely, there are several points we need to check. Most of the parents favored homeschooling system were highly-educated parents. That means those parents are capable of teaching their children own their own, but in most cases, it will be impossible for poorly-educated parents to teach their children.
Second, education is a process of becoming a member of a society. When we pay attention to the function of education, it is more clear that it is not just teaching knowledge, but social skills. For example, if some parents attempt to teach their children, this will result in depriving their children of the valuable things such as friendship, cooperation, etc. Men can not live alone. If we re-think the function of education, it is evident that parents' teaching will not be wide enough to cover all the stages of children's development.
Third, parents can be too lenient to teach something. As I mentioned above, parents know everything about their children, so they are likely to be lenient towards the children. It is not so much that we have to be strict all the time. If the parents are too lenient, I think there is a likelihood that children can be spoiled. But in the formal education system, the experieced teachers can control the emotion and behavior of the children.
To sum up, although parents play the important role in education, their role is not so wide enough to control all the complicated children's behavior. In addition, there are not many parents who are qualified to teach the children. Teachers are experts with many experiences and they can adjust their teaching skills to the children but parents can not all these things at the same time.
