When faced with a problem, some people stick to solve it alone because they think no one would know better about their problems than themselves. But, in my case, I prefer asking others to give a piece of advice because I can see other point of views to see the problem, I may meet someone who experienced similar problems and I can see my problem more objectively.
First, I can have opportunity to get other point of views seeing the problem. These different views help me understand the problem better, thus giving me a creative idea to solve the problem. In high school, I used to ask my teacher and classmates mathematics problems. Because, with different views from my own, problems proved to be easier than I had thought, and I was able to make my own ideas to solve them.
Also, sharing my problems to get advice, I could meet someone who experienced problems like mine. As there are a lot of people who are living in society that we share, we could encounter others who had already experienced common problem with us. Based on their experiences, they would offer us easier and more effective ways to reach the solution. Then we can take advantage of them to product our own ideas.
Finally, I can avoid failing to find my own problem to cope with situations. Thinking same way, there are times I miss my own problems. That is the time I come to be obsessed with only my thinking, which prevents me making ideas. At a time like this, the third one would see the situation more objectively and correct my problem.
In conclusion, I would disagree with the statement saying “It is better to solve problems ourselves than asking others for advices” because of the following benefits from others: various views seeing the problems, experiences and more objective view. Solving them alone, we can form ability to deal with the problems. But, with same degree, we also can miss chances to get other benefits gained from others’ advice. |
