As a child, I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin which is a beautiful city with two lakes surrounding it. I loved the sound of birds' singing and the cool breeze. After entering middle school, I had to move to the city in order to get better education. It was common for the families in Madison to move in to the city by the time their children entered elementary school. Even though I fully understood why I had to move, I remeber hating it to part company with the nature and its beauty. Therefore after graduating from my university, I would prefer to spend the rest of my life living in a house located in the country side.
Living in a house means that I would be able to have my own garden near my house. Ever since I was a little girl, my mom and dad planted trees and flowers in the community garden. I remember promising myself that one day when I grow up, I would also plant flowers in my back yard. I wil be able to eat healthy diets by growing organic vegetables and share them with my loving neighbors. It is still possible for me to have a garden near by even when I am living in the city, but the joy would diminish due to the honking and stuffed air.
The worst thing about living in an apartment is the lack of privacy. I can recall several times feeling uneasy about this issue. Whenever I wanted to bring boyfriend over to my apartment, I had to be really careful not to be seen my neighbors. Some of my nosy neighbors started a terrible rumor that involved us and I had to move out of the apartment not to feel guilty for something that was not even true. For a person like to who is seriously concerned about keeping things to oneself prefer to live in a house because you can maintain appropriate distance with your neighbors and don't have to worry so much about noise as much as you would when sharing a building with other people.
A couple times during highschool, I had to live with my grandparents during vacations or breaks because of asthsma. Living in a city made my nose stuffy and worsened my health situation. In this respect, I am looking forward to the fresh breeze and clean air in the suburbs. Being Away from all the noise and pollution will bring peace both to my body and to my mind. I can enjoy walking in the park or jogging along the tree-lined streets. It is the beauty and benefits of nature that lure me to the country side rather than the dry cities.
Having a house in the quite country has various benfits. You can learn what happiness is by organizing your own garden. Protecting your privacy and your health will be easier when you are away from downtown. People used to point out that big shopping centers and theaters are huge features of the city life. However, with the development of the Internet you can also make sure you stay convenient thesedays. Because all these reasons, I would rather choose to live in a house in the country side.
