There are generally two ways through which people can get knowledge or learn more. One of them is to learn by themselves searching for resourecs needed for their learning, and the other is to be taught by a teacher. Usually, students use the two method both when they study something. But, when reflecting my experience, I can truly say that the former is more efficient way to learn for two mainly reason.
First of all, we can understand and memorize something much more precisely and perfectly when we study by ourselves. It means that it is rarely impossible to forget or obscure specific notion we already get. Sometimes, I undergo really wondering event. It is that when I sincerely search for an idea seldom comprehended for a long time by myself and finally get a corresponding answer, I feel like the thing is carved in my head. As a result, without any assistance from others, I wholly attain the knowledge and make it mine in the problem solving process that do not exist in learning with a teacher.
Moreover, learning by ourselves has not any kinds of disturbing factor on study time such as distracting thought or unsuitable teaching style for each students. When we learn something with a teacher, if we cannot concentrate on lecture for those obstruction, misconception or imperfect grasp can occur thereby. In contrast, we can be fully absorbed to the only subject and so we get enough time to track what kind of logical problem exist or where did we have an error. In those feedback process, we can catch our mistake and get a chance to improve our knowledge. I believe that this is the real learning.
Summing up, learning by myself is much more suitable way for the two reason and so I prefer this way to with a teacher. First, through study time only controlled by myself, I get an answer with my own consideration and it connot be easily erased from my memory. And secondly, opportunity of feedback can help check my weak point and frequent mistake and it can be connected my improvement. Hence, I strongly prefer learning by myself to with a teacher. |
