If the new university would be built in the local community according to the government's plan, both advantages and disadvantages would be issued by the locals. The advantages would be the development of the community and increase in job availability. On the other hands, the disadvantages would be overpopulation and side effects due to the sudden change.
First of all, there is no doubt that the new university will provide a variety of jobs during the process of construction and after the construction. The jobs needed for building the edifices would include brick layers, carpenters, and architectures and so on. The positions created after the university is built would be lecturers, librarians, office workers and custodians. In this time of slow economy of low employment rate, the new college can boost the economical state of the community.
Moreover, the community would increase in population. This can negatively affect the society if it is too crowded. People would have to suffer from traffic congestion, noise pollution and inconvenience. However, the community can result in development with the high-technological facilities, and diversity in ordinary stores such as restaurants to satiate the wide range of people's demands. This can be achieved easily because more people in town means more tax payers which increase the amount of budget ultimately extends a chance of building other new helpful facilities.
On the other hand, the characteristics of the village can alter too suddenly. The current community is quiet and small which allows closely linked relationship with neighbourhoods. By the way, this can be changed when a lot of different people move in, the street would be crowded young strangers, and would be hard to build a close relationship as before.
In conclusion, building the new university would impact the community in both positive and negative ways as mentioned above; therefore the government should inform the local members in details and consider the overall opinions before the final decision.
