"It is easier to learn in small class" One psychologist in America claimed it. Some people agree with it because learning in small class will make students feel comfortable. But others said it is not easy to learn in small class because there will be fewer discussion from students. I personally agree with the statement because teachers can pay more attention to students and students will feel comfortable with classmates.
Firstly, teachers can pay more attention to students if it is small class. If there are fewer students in the class it will be easier for teachers to know student's condition. It may be helpful to students in improving their drawbacks when teacher focus on them. However, if there are many students, teachers can't go through each student. This makes students to feel tired in studying. For example, my school class has approximately 40 students. My teacher don't know our precise grades. Thus every time he just repeat the same studying pattern. My friend is very weak at science but my teacher didn't knew that. Teacher just speed up the work level. This make my friend feel tired about studying science. So she give up studying science. This is the result of teacher's indifference on students.
Secondly, students will feel more comfortable with classmates. Usually people feel comfortable when there are few people around them. If there is small amount of students. They will get better chance to get along with others. Thus this make students to make better cooperation. As a result they will produce better work. However, if there's lot of people, only a few classmates will get together. There will be no cooperation and this make them to have many questions in their class. As a result their questions about class and contents will slower the class. To be specific, I was in Jeju Academy for 2 years. One semester I was in a class with 5 students. It was very cozy and comfortable for me to come along with them. One day we discussed about Shakespeare. It was very hard topic for us but we discussed it all together about his life, work and his worthless in literature.. After class I felt that it was easy and good topic to study. We coapearated in working together with others. However, I was once in a class with 13 students. There was no discussion between students because they don't know each other. I kept quiet and don't participate into class. Thus I failed every test I faced and it was terrible for me to attend that class.
It is more efficient to study in a comfortable circumstance than annoying and tired circumstance. I personally suggest you to study in a small class. This will make teachers pay more attention to you and you will get along with friends easily. As a result your ability to study will increase rapidly. |
